No one likes it when the phone rings and you answer it to find a bill collector on the other line. I understand that they are only doing a job, that in the long run no one really likes.

But the day came when she called asking for me.

She called and asked for me but I had already gone to work. So my husband would be the lucky one to pick up the phone that day. He had told her that he was my husband and could talk to him about it, but she said no it must be me. He even told her that I was not home and at work. So she would call back, and so she did.

She would continue to call back until she got a hold of me that night after 8 p.m. So I told her I would call back to make my payment by phone on Friday, pay day of course. But come Friday night when I got home to pay it, I find that their office was closed. Would have been nice of the rep to tell me the office would close at 5 p.m. So I put it in the mail on Saturday.

Each and every day it was late she would continue to call, even after my husband had told her that I was at work again and that it was mailed. It even came down to it where she would call him every hour.

The day came again when I was home to get her call again, but by then I was so mad. I told her that no customer should be harassed that often for a payment. That my husband was able to talk to her about anything. That my husband had a heart condition and that her calls just continued to wake him. That she could have left a message on the machine and been done with it. I even told her to cancel my long distance service.

Now the phone does not ring.
