• There aren't any strict rules on which fruits to pair. Bananas are especially good in a smoothie because they add texture but their flavor won't overpower the other fruits.

• Use frozen fruit instead of ice. Ice will dilute the smoothie and can create a crunchy consistency. Either buy frozen fruit or seal fresh fruit pieces in plastic bags and put them in the freezer the night before.

• Mix your fruit with juice, milk, yogurt, or sorbet, depending on the texture and sweetness you crave.

Bananas are best to thicken a smoothie that is too thin.

I love mixing raspberries, black berries, peaches, and blueberries with a bit of yogurt to help thinken and for the added calcium.

I usually buy the frozen fruit bags and just grab the amount of each i want at the time.
