A little thought:
A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"
The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin.
God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He then cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

[attachmentid=438] So what is Halloween?
Answer: A time for everyone to have fun!
Halloween is like no other holiday. Unlike Christmas, and Easter the season of giving and religious; Halloween has a spirit of fun that anyone can enjoy.
It all starts with the changing colors of the leaves and what a sight that can be, for Fall is here again. A great time for a walk in the woods, picking up colored leaves and taking them home to use to decorate with. Even the chore of raking the leaves can be fun, but before you do have some fun with them. You can even use them to stuff a scarecrow or two.
This also the harvest time of the year where the apples are ready for picking; great for apple pies - hot apple cider or caramel apples. They are so good to eat but if you get a bad apple you don't have to toss it out; turn it into a face. Peel off some or all of the skin, carve a face, and put it into the oven on very low and let it dry. Out will come a shrunken head.
What about the corn on the cob? The stalks are great to decorate with, the corn is yummy to eat and even the corn husk can be used to make little dolls. And who ever said you could not play with your food!
We don't want to forget the great pumpkin, and all the other squash members. Not only are these good to eat, but what fun it is to use them as a bowling ball. There are also many ways to carve or paint or decorate to turn a pumpkin into a Jack O'Lanter. Remember the seeds inside can be baked and eaten too.
Little by little more and more fall and Halloween decorations go up to set the mood, from the cute to the scary, and then when it gets dark outside: look out for those beady eyes could be looking at you.
There is no other time of the year where all ages get to pretend! By putting on costumes, the chance to make them or buy them or just wait until they come knocking on your door. To be able to dress up as anything you want. Being part of the parade at school, or going to a dance, or having fun at work, or best of all going trick or treating. Dressing up in a costume can be so much fun.
Yes the sweet taste of trick or treat candy after running from house to house, the surprise to see what you have collected in your bag; there is no other thrill so sweet. What is your favorite piece of candy?
There are so many places to go for fun these days or for a little fright. During this holiday check out the farms where you can pick your own, or check out the corn maze, or enjoy a hayride. So many places put on Halloween parties or shows, even the zoo. And how about a haunted house to see if you can be scared - if you dare!
The best part of the Halloween season of fun, is the people you get to share it with, and the memories you make together. So enjoy yourself this Halloween season and tell us all about it.
