Dreading the idea of cleaning out your garage for summer? Think of it as getting organized. Who says it can't be fun, make it a party and grill out.

First, set up four garbage cans (with covers)
outside the garage: one for trash, and one (or more if needed for recyclable items)
mount your can crusher close by ready to be used

inside the garage: one for donations or rummage sale items
one for those outside toys that always find their way on the floor

Second take a look at your shelves and wall space to be able to get the best hooks or plastic bins that will help you to organize.

Now your ready to clear everything out of the garage, and sort. Don't be tempted to store things as you go or you'll never get rid of unnecessary clutter.

Finally, put it all back neatly. Label shelves, storage bins, even the section of wall you hang your tools on. That way, when it's time to put away something new, you'll know just where it goes.

This will work in the basement, attic and even the work shop or garden shed. Once everything has a place, cleaning will be only a broom job.
