Ingredients ::
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 4 to 5 Tablespoons cold water
Description ::
Makes: 1 pie crust

In a food processor, pulse the flour, salt, butter, and shortening until it is in large crumbs.

Add water; pulse until mixture starts to form a ball. (DO NOT OVER MIX)

Shape the dough into a round disc; cover with plastic wrap and freeze for 10 minutes, until it is easy to handle.

Roll the dough into an 11 inch circle on a floured surface; then fit the dough into a 9-1/2 inch deep dish pie plate.

Turn edge under and flute.

Pour in your filling and bake.
