Ingredients ::
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened (1-1/2 sticks)
  • 1-1/2 cups uncooked quick OR old fashioned oats
  • 1-1/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 jar (10 oz.) low sugar spreadable raspberry jam

Note: you could use a different flavor jam if you like.

Lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with non stick cooking spray.

Combine the brown sugar and margarine in a bowl, beat until fluffy.

Add the oats, flour, wheat germ, baking soda, and salt; mix well to make crumbs.

Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Then spread the raspberry jam over the crust. Sprinkle with the remaining crumb mixture.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool before cutting into bars.
