Ingredients ::
- 1 quart strawberries
- 3 cups sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
From: Inga Kornbeck, of Hartford, WI
Makes: 2 pints
Put whole strawberries in a flat bottomed saucepan.
Add 1 cup of sugar.
Boil for 3 minutes over a low heat, stirring gently.
Add another cup of sugar and cook for another 3 minutes.
Add the last cup of sugar and cook for another 3 minutes.
Skim off any foam.
Add the vanilla.
Spread mixture into a shallow dish to cool.
Then spoon into jars.
