Ingredients ::
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups cooked cabbage plus leaves
  • 1 cup grated American cheese
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons ground pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups minced tomato with juice

Makes: 6 servings

In a fry pan, saute onion in butter.

Arrange the cabbage leaves in a greased casserole dish; and sprinkle each layer with cheese, bread crumbs and pepper.

Then pour the tomatoes over the top.

Top with dots of butter.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes; until hot and slightly browned.
