Makes: about 2-1/2 dozen

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, cream the soft butter and the powdered sugar. Then gradually add the flour to the mixture and stir.

Now shape a tablespoon of the dough around each cherry half; to form a ball. Place the balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Put the cookies into the oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until the bottoms of the books are lightly browned.

Remember to use oven mitts to remove the baking sheet out of the oven.

In a bowl put some powdered sugar, when you take the cookies out of the oven you will want to take each one and roll it in the powdered sugar to cover it. Then let the cookies cool before eating them. (the cherry inside needs to cool)
