Before you take the car out (the car must be cool) you want to put an old misfit white sock over the open end of the tailpipe.
Then turn on the car and let it run for a minutes.
Now turn off the car.
Be very careful to remove the sock without touching the metal tailpipe that is hot now.
Look at the pollution that is on the outside and the inside of the sock.
This is the pollution that is coming from this car, but remember that it was only running for a minute or two. Just think how much the car would give off with exhaust if you went some place that would take a half hour, or even hours each day. Now think about all the cars and their exhaust that is being given off day after day.
P.S. this might be a good time to think about walking more, or taking a bike, or even car pools.
