Those little mementoes from the wedding that don't make it into the photo album because they will not fit - such as the flowers from the bouquet. These can be displayed in glass domes or a shadow box. Boxers by FrameMica can be built to accommodate all those three-dimensional objects - even a wedding dress.

Celebrate with personal wines, Champagne, and even non-alcoholic bottles with the couple's names, wedding date, and a message. Some companies will even include two flute glasses. Wine gift baskets are nice with grapes, crackers, cheese, and even chocolate. A wine cooler or bottle coaster are fine gifts to display or keep bottles cool.

Sweets for the new couple! If you know they love chocolate, stop into any high quality candy store and have them put together a speical gift set.

Do you know if they have a special decorating theme or hobby or collection that you could add too. Remember these would be items the couple may not buy them self.

I believe and say that a Bottle Bunch Wine Rack is a good wedding gift. A video recorder for their honeymoon would be a best one too. It is really a sweet thing for the new couple.

bear_original.gif Gift - Do's and Don't

Do send a gift, a gift is in order when you receive a wedding invitation, even if you plan to skip the ceremony. A wedding announcement carries no gift obligation although it is thoughtful to send a note or card expressing your best wishes to the new couple.

Contrary to popular legend, guests don't have up to one year after a wedding to send a gift to the couple. Gifts should be sent before the wedding.

Wedding gifts should be delivered to the bride's home or the home of her parent before the wedding.

If a couple is already living together, gifts can be sent to their home and should be addressed to the bride in her name.

Insome cases, gifts may be brought to the reception and placed at the gift table.

Gifts are acceptable, but not required, for second wedding. Friends who gave gifts to the bride the first time around, don't need to do so again.

Do bring a gift if you are invited to a shower. If an invited guest can't atend, the gift is not obligatory, but close friends and family can do so, and with a card saying how sorry they missed out.

Do ask the host or hostess of an engagement party whether you should bring a gift. Engagement gifts have never been obligatory but are becoming customary in some parts of the country, usually given to the couple by family members and close friends.

Don't feel a wedding gift should equal the amount the bride and groom spend on each guest. The amount spent on a gift should be based on your relationship with the couple-or their families-as well as your budget.

Do find out where the bride and groom are registered. Registry information is sometimes inserted in shower invitations but it's never appropriate to include in wedding invitations. To find a couple's registry you could try www.weddingchannel.com

Note: Thank you notes should be written within three months of the wedding.

The kitchen, the heart of any home, and a kitchen wedding gift can be a great time to provide the new couple hours of fun.

Today there are so many different kitchen items on the market to pick from. Even the toaster has come a long way. Look for items that you know the couple will use often. A food processor, mixer, toaster, are always items any kitchen will need. Cutlery and kitchen tools, hot pads and towels will always get used.

To have a little more fun with your gift, go the extra step and get the supplies needed to use it. For example, if you buy a popcorn maker, then why not get a bag of popcorn and special popcorn salts.

Let's not forget those great cookbooks for newlyweds.

A wonderful gift that will last a lifetime!

A couple's wedding day is the most important day of their lives, one they'll remember forever. So, what better wedding gift is there than a cedar chest the newlyweds can use to store and protect these memories for a lifetime.
