Ingredients ::
  • Filling:
  • apples (depends on the size) need to fill an 11 by 9 inch pan (1-1/2 inches high of apple slices)
  • cinnamon
  • sugar
  • Streusel:
  • 1 cup of sugar (or splenda)
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup of butter

Serve as a hot breakfast or serve with ice cream for a hot after dinner treat.

Remember safe cooking rules:
Cutting and peeling apple
Using hot pads when removing hot pans from the oven
And most important to have an adult available for help if needed.

Wash your apples.
Dry the apples so you can peel off the outer skin.
Cut apples into half and remove seeds and core.
Slice apples and layer the pan, sprink ontop layer with cinnamon and sugar.
Repeat apples and layer of cinnamon and sugar until the pan is 1-1/2 inches high.

In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour and egg. Blend until crumbly. Pat the streusel lightly over the mixture of apples.

In a small sauce pan melt butter or in a microwave safe dish melt the butter. (remember to use a hot pad to remove the hot dish) Pour the butter over the streusel mixture.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar again on top.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes. The streusel will have a golden brown top.
