Born: August 29th, 1958 Michael Jackson
Dies: June 25th, 2:26 P.M. at the young age of only 50.
The King of Pop music, a name he truly earned as a singer.
I was only 9 years old when Michael at the age of 12 in 1971, was already a house hold name, with his brothers as the Jackson 5 with their hits “I’ll Be There” and “A B C”. I can even remember today their carton show with them singing that song. I liked the song Ben about a pet mouse best.
By age 20, came the remake of the classic movie the “Wizard of OZ”, where he would play the Scarecrow in “The Wiz” movie. To me this was a fresh new way to remake the movie with a twist and as a musical.
In 1981 I was just a senior in high school, looking forward to school ending and starting my life as an adult; where as Michael was on a concert tour performing for millions of people. He was on his way to earning so many awards: like Favorite Soul Album.
1983 was the year I would give birth to a baby girl, a proud time for her father and me. This would be the year the Michael’s “Thriller” video changed the music industry. A great mini-movie, a cute and scary type of love story told by music and dance; and ended with the voice of a great horror movie actor Vincent Price. Thriller went on to win Michael 8 Grammy Awards in 1984. I can only imagine how proud his parents could be of their son. But then what an honor it must have been to receive from President Reagan a Presidential Award as a model for American Youth.
“We Are The World” what a powerful song to come from so many talented singers of different backgrounds together to benefit famine victims in Ethiopia, in 1985. One can only dream of all the chances Michael was given to work with all the wonderful stars throughout his career that started in 1969.
The 3-D film “Captain EO” was something my young fan of a daughter was lucky to get to see with her Grandmother at Disney. My only regret was never being able to take my daughter to see Michael in Concert.
To this day, I do not think there was ever a better half time show, then the one done for the Super Bowl XXVIII in 1993. 30,000 lucky children would get to join him in this performance. I can only think of one other event that showed off such a wow effect of so many people and that was done for the Olympics in Beijing, China.
1996 was the time of Michael’s “History” world tour concert, and the year my daughter would turn 13. By now she was a bigger fan of Michael Jackson and since she could not go to the concert over seas, I wanted to give her something special for her birthday, and I did. This would be the first time she would cry after opening her gifts. First I had a one of a kind custom painted t-shirt of Michael made for her to enjoy wearing.

Second a case of Mystery – a fresh cool peach drink from Germany, and it did taste good. Third was MJ History jacket also from Germany. It was such a great feeling to see her that happy and worth every dollar we spend.
It is so sad to know that as much as Michael wanted to have children and did, that he will never get to see them grow u pinto adults. To me there is nothing more precious then watching and being a part of your child’s life.
On September 7th, 2001, Michael would celebrate a 30 year career concert with a famous actress, Elizabeth Taylor. To me Michael seemed like a man who cared for world peace with the heart of a child, and that is a good quality to have. “Black or White” the color of ones skin should not define the person within, he would sing and so true. I was always proud to know that I was named after Elizabeth Taylor and so glad she could be his friend and a God-mother of two of his children. I would have liked to have been able to meet him and lucky to call him my friend.
I do feel that the Neverland Ranch should have been something of a legacy that he could have passed onto his children to love and enjoy. You could see that there was so much love the Michael had put into that estate that he called home, and share with so many animals and other people to enjoy.
Michael was a very blessed person the have the support of his parents, brothers and sisters in his life during the bad and good times. I am sure they all had an important impact on who he became, but only he will ever know how. He will be missed by them all I am sure as he too touched their lives in so many ways. He has touched the lives in so many people too, from children to even those in the military, and around the world, and me.
To his children: Prince Michael Jackson, Jr., Paris, and Blanket, be proud of your father the great entertainer he was for the world and for all the good he did for it. It will be our sad loss never to see him perform again, to write another poem, or sing and dance! May you find that true peace Michael you were looking for here on earth now in heaven with God and Elvis and all the other great people who have touched our heart.
