Ingredients ::
  • 4 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups Mrs. Bowen's Tom & Jerry Mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 6 slices quality, firm-textured white bread, each 1 inch thick
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • Garnish with:
  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar

  • Enjoy a traditional holiday favorite. Each Container: 14 ounces makes 10-12 servings Serve hot or cold. Use mix for making great French Toast. For delicious hot beverage fill cup with hot milk or water. Mix in rum, brandy and/or whiskey for alcoholic beverage. Garnish top with grated nutmeg. Keep frozen until ready to use.

From: Cedar Crest Ice Cream, in Wisconsin

Makes: 4 to 6 servings

Time: Make the night before you want to serve this.

In a medium bowl, beat eggs, milk, Tom & Jerry Mix, cinnamon and nutmeg with a wire whisk until well-blended.

Cut bread in half and dip in egg mixture.

Place bread slices in a 13 x 9 x 3 inch pan.

Pour remaining egg mixture over the bread slices.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Heat oven to 450 degrees.

Butter two jelly roll pans.

Remove bread slices from refrigerated pan and place on jelly roll pans.

Bake uncovered for 10 minutes or until golden brown; turn bread.

Bake 6 more minutes or until lightly browned.

Serve hot with syrup and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
