Are you tired of your living space? Tired of looking at the same curtins, or making the same bed day after day?

Well just like the change of seasons, you should change those curtins. You can deside how often you want to change them. The heavy dark colored ones for the winter, and then to the light airy bright colored ones for spring. You could even change them for the holidays. Curtins make such a difference on how the sun comes in your rooms and makes you feel each day. They can also make a room look new since curtins come in so many different styles. If you can sew, it can be fun and sometimes cheaper to make your own.

The same goes for that bed. We all know that it is a good idea to turn the mattris from time to time. This would be a great time to maybe slipping one flat sheet over your box spring so that it forms a modified "dust ruffle", if you don't already use one. Then change the blanket or comforter, some are even made two sided so this makes it nice to change colors. And don't forget those pillowcases. Get creative bear_original.gif

A helpful laundry tip -

Put the sheets inside their matching pillowcases when you fold them up; from the dryer. This way they are always ready when you want to make a bed. Plus it keeps your cupboards neat. bear_thumb.gif

The Headboard of Your Bed!

So changing the bedding and pillows is just not doing it any more for you, then maybe you can change the headboard.

That is right, if it is made of wood you can stain or paint it to another color, or design it with stencils. You could even cover it with fabric.

If you do not have a headboard, you can create a wall-headboard with little effort. Make sure you like the placement of your bed first, this is critical, since you will not be able to move the bed once you finish. Mark on the wall where the headboard goes, before you move the bed and start your project. You can go to www.doityourself.com for ideas.

Then the fun can start, you get to design anything you want, and you can use anything you want too. One color, two colors or more, then there are shapes, designs, patterns, animals, and so many other types of stencils to pick from. You can cut out shapes of trees and turn the room into a theme of sleeping outside. Or you could go with cutouts of the city, or a far away place. There is no stopping on the ideas you can do, and you can make the wall-headboard a few inches tall or go all the way to the celling.

By adding 4 hanging clips into the celling above the bed to make a square, you could even make a canopy look to your bed by adding fabric to the clips.

Don't want to go to all that trouble, or unable to paint on your walls since your renting, then how about hanging a large scarf, or quilt, or a cool design on some fabric. You can also frame the fabric if you like in a large poster frame.

If you like the idea of the poster frame, you can also do anything you like with this. You can paint, or draw, or cut out shapes, clipping from the paper, favorite keepsakes like cards and tickets, family and friends pictures, there are so many things you can do. Plus you can change your art work anytime you like.

So go have some fun and spice up your bedroom with a new headboard area, and share your pictures with us.
