Ingredients ::
  • 3-4 Red Delicious apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1 Lb. solid butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar or more
  • 1 Puff pastry square sheet per apple
  • Egg wash:
  • 1 egg white beaten with 1 teaspoon of milk OR water
  • vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Peel and core the apples.

In a little bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.

Completely cover inside and out of apple with sugar and cinnamon. Then wrap each apple in a puff pastry sheet.
Coat wrapped apples with the egg wash, using a pastry brush. Place into a pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Melt butter in a sauce pan, and add brown sugar and stir until combined and warmed through. DO NOT BOIL. Add more brown sugar for a thicker caramel sauce.

To serve each baked apple in a bowl or on a plate, smother them in caramel sauce and serve with a side of vanilla ice cream.
