Ingredients ::
  • 8 oz. Bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 stick butter
  • 5 eggs separated
  • 2/3 cup extra fine granulated sugar
  • and Your pick of Garnish

Melt Chocolate and butter in a double boiler.

In a bowl whip egg yolks with sugar, but reserving 1 Tablespoon of the sugar. Whip them until pale in color.

In another bowl whip the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Add the 1 Tablespoon of sugar and now whip until hard peaks form.

Combine the chocolate and egg yolk mixture.

Then fold in the egg whites.

Bake at 325 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes in a prepared 10 inch spring form pan.

Cool for 10 minutes and then remove outside part of pan.

Serve with a chocolate sauce, fresh fruit, and / or whip cream.
