Ingredients ::
  • 1 cup converted rice
  • 2 Tablespoons diced onions
  • 2 Tablespoons diced celery
  • 2 Tablespoons diced red pepper
  • 3/4 cup smoked sausage; crumbled
  • 1-8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup mild salsa
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoons melted margarine
  • 1/8 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Makes: 5 cups

Cook onions, celery and red pepper in a small amount of water until tender; reserve the water.

In a 2 quart with cover casserole dish, mix all ingredients in.

Cover and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

Uncover and stir; recover and bake until rice is fully cooked, about 10 more minutes.
