Easy, eye-catching arrangements are easy and fun, and brighten any table.
They can be made with non-drip candles or without candles, real or silk flowers, fruits and anything found in nature. You can also change the arrangement as often as you like. (if you use candles: never leave burning unattended or within reach of small children or pets. Replace the candles when they have burned to withing 2 inches of the foliage)
The arrangement in the picture is made with a shallow dish, any dish that hold water will do if you will be using real flowers.
Next is a green florist's foam that is used to provide an anchor for you to push the flowers into. Soak it in water before you start, and place it in the shallow dish. You need to make sure the foam will stay in the dish. (water it a little each day to keep the flowers fresh)
You can buy your supplies or look around your house, check outside in your yard, or take a walk. You will be surprised how easy it is to find stuff for your centerpiece. Things like twigs, holly, pine cones, cat tails, and fallen leaves are just somethings you might find.
If the item does not push into the foam you will need to add a piece of wire to it first. This is so the wire ends protrude and can be used to push into the foam. There is also florist's tape that can be used.
The best part is you can not make a bad centerpiece.

You can even make napkin rings or rings to go around the bottom of your glasses for an extra special touch.
We would love to see your centerpiece.

More Fresh Ideas For Centerpieces.
If you are looking for a way to spruce up your home with fresh flowers, or even dry flowers, try thinking outside of the normal vase.
First you need to look around the house for decorative elements that will tolerate water to make your arrangements with.
It does not need to be a holiday or special event to use your nice china bowl, or a fancy pitcher, you should be able to enjoy these beautiful items more often.

You could even combine a large bowl, with a vase in the center and fill them both to make a stunning centerpiece.
Mix and match items together, like a bowl or pot or even a tea pot, and combine it with a nick-nack that will sit on top of it.

Old watering cans, enamelware pitchers, cast iron kettles, even old coffee cans can be used to prop open a door, or by the stairs, the fire place, or any other place on the floor where some added colors would make that area now pop.
Colored glass bottles (soda, wine, champagne, mason jars) can add shine to any window when the sun comes in, and you don't need a lot of flowers to fill them; even one will look nice.
Use bowls and shallow dishes for floating flower heads. You can also add other small items from the house that will float too. And to add a warm glow, use floating candles.
Even an old beer can, bottle or stein, a coffee mug, can add an interesting touch for any male area in the house.
Flowers bring a fresh beauty to any room, so enjoy them!
