Full Version: Collecting Things . . .
By Loving Hands > Other Helpful Stuff > Something New
Mrs Liz
There are so many people that collect something.
Some collect things to wear - like shoes.
Some collect things to read - like books, magazines, comic books and news papers.
Some collect hunting trophies.
Some collect cute things - like stuffed animals, dolls and nicknack's.
Some collect old things that are now antics.
Some collect concert tickets or other things from bands or of Hollywood's stars.

So the question is - What do you collect?
The tell us why do you collect it?
How long have you been collecting this?
How much will you spend to collect your item?
What do you do with the item you collect?

I collect Lizards, not the real ones, but I did have one as a pet once.

I collect them because my name is Liz, but my nickname was Lizard ever since grade school. So ever since I have been collecting them, got them as gifts.

I will pay what ever if I find a Lizard I really like, it must be different.

I have most of my Lizards in my bathroom, that is set up with a rain forest theme. The other lizards I collect are jewelry.

I also collect bears. Cute stuffed teddy bears and Cherished Teddies.

Why! Because they are so cute and soft. What is not to like about them!

I started to collect them as an adult, ever since I started to make stuffed bears for craft shows with my mother-in-law Cherie. Then I saw the Cherished Teddies, after getting my first one as a gift from my friend Jean. I have been hocked on bears ever since and enjoy buying them.

Most of my bears have been wonderful gifts, those I buy are normally under $30.

My bedroom is covered with bears, from the rugs to the pictures on the walls. I even have a bear light switch. And yes some of my bears even have names.

Do you have a special Teddie bear too?

STRAWBERRIES

Since I collect Cherished Teddies I fell in love with a set of them that I had to have. Once I got them I had to find a place to put them, and that would be my kitchen. That was the start to my kitchen theme - Strawberry Fields.

I have only been collecting for a few years but need no more now. Thanks to my sister-in-law Michelle I have everything you can think of and then some. Now I need a bigger kitchen for it all. So for now, my collecting of strawberries has come to an end.

[COLOR=orange] I collect a lot of stuff, think it's in my blood, my grandpa collected a lot of antiques. He loved going out to yard sales and flea-markets looking for deals. Most of his stuff was stolen after he passed. He had a corner in his third wife's house that had a lot of Ice-cream shop tools that had our name Gilchrist on them. He also had a mantel clock with our name on too!

Now - me and my dad search for similar items. My dad collects a lot cars, mostly 55 - 57 Thunderbirds, any tools to repair cars, and computers.

I too collect cars, mostly Ford products, my favorite is 70 - 71 Ranchero's, and I collect old Craftsmen hand tools.

I am into Harley Davidson's and collect some different cool toys and advertising's. Also trying to get all of the Harley Barbie's. I got into them after finding a gift certificate to a toy store and saw the 3rd - and got the rest. My first name is Ken and I am often asked "Where is Barbie?" Now I say at home standing on my berreau! bear_grin.gif

I also collect Petterson Publishing magazines, CARtoon's, Hot Rod CARtoon's, DRAGtoon's and CYCLEtoon's. I started collecting these when I was 10 after my dad gave me a few from the 60's. Then at 12 I found they where still printing CARtoon's and got a subscription. I still search for them and have many doubles Of the HOT ROD CARtoon's - I am down to two left, of the 66 volumes!
