BUCKET RELAY:
You will need one empty bucket and one bucket filled with water per team, and one plastic ladle that will not break if someone falls with it.
Put the one plastic buckets with water at one end of the yard, this is the starting line for each team.
Set the empty buckets about ten feet away (or can be farther apart depending on the age group.
Have everyone take turns scooping a ladleful of water and running (carefully!) to the other bucket to dump it out. The first team to fill their bucket wins.

Well if you think that is too easy then try CUP RELAY:
Here you scale it down, same idea as the Bucket relay but exchange the buckets for plastic cups and the ladles with plastic spoons. Not only will it be harder but this will take longer too.

Lets not forget the fun with water balloons!
This is simple, everyone playing pairs up with someone, and gets one balloon per pair. All pairs line up facing each other, one side has the balloon.
One person will be needed to call out and watch.
That person will call out when everyone with the balloon will toss the balloon to the other person to catch it. Those that catch it take one step backwards, those that do not catch the balloon get wet and are out of the game.
Then the caller repeats to call out toss the balloon until only one pair is left holding the balloon.
Note: If this has been fun you can repeat the game with those who did not get wet or drop the balloon, to see who will still stay dry a second time. This can go on and on if you started with a large group of people.

HOT POTATO with a water balloon.
With this game everyone but one makes a circle (stretch arms so fingers just touch the other person to your sides).
That one person will stand in the center of the circle with a bucket of water balloons. Once that person says go they will toss it to someone in the circle and say left or right, as soon as that person gets the balloon they will need to toss it to the person on that side of them that the caller said. This will continue fast around the circle until someone drops it. The person who drops the balloon is out and leaves the circle and then the caller will toss in another balloon and call out the direction. As more drop out of the circle it will get harder, but remember this is a game of speed.
Note: If adults are playing this game add one extra step. After the person drops the balloon and leaves the circle, everyone left will take one step backwards. Now the circle will get much harder. There can be only one dry winner!
